QAlity and QAlity Plus are now on Forge

QAlity and QAlity Plus have migrated to Forge

Forge is a serverless, cloud-based platform that helps deliver a faster and, most importantly, more secure experience by handling key aspects like security, compute, and storage.

What does it mean for you?

Display changes

After the move to Forge, QAlity/QAlity Plus may no longer appear automatically in the work item view.

To open QAlity/QAlity Plus in a work item:

Open the work item.
Go to Apps → QAlity/QAlity Plus

To show QAlity/QAlity Plus by default for everyone in a project (new option):

As a Project Admin, open any work item in the project.
Open QAlity/QAlity Plus actions
Enable Show for all work items
Then open a QAlity Test work item and repeat the steps 2-3.

Configure firewall and VPN for new Forge URL’s

In case your company uses a firewall, antivirus, or VPN that blocks certain IP ranges, you need to make sure the IP’s used by Jira are whitelisted. You can read more details in this official documentation: https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/ip-addresses-and-domains-for-atlassian-cloud-products/

If you face further issues, these are the specific IPs you will need to enable in your firewall config:

104.192.136.0/21 
185.166.140.0/22 
13.35.248.0/24

URL changes

The following pages provided by QAlity and QAlity Plus will have new URLs. The user interface will automatically use them; however, if you store the direct links to our app anywhere (e.g., as browser tabs), you will need to update them to access the app. You can copy the new links directly from your browser, and you can also see a preview of the changes in the table below.

Replace the APP_ID & MODULE_ID in the URL with the following:

Report accessibility

Reports will no longer be accessible from Space Jira Navigation.

Previously, users were able to access Test Execution Report and Traceability Report by going into Space Page → Reports → More Reports → Other ->…

Now these reports are exclusively accessible from the Jira App Sidebar Menu.

FAQ

Does this migration affect Data Center apps?

No.
Forge is only available for Atlassian Cloud. Data Center apps remain unchanged and do not require Forge migration.

Will any data be lost during the migration?

No.
The migration is seamless. All your data stays intact.

No exporting, saving, or backup steps are required.

Has any other app from your portfolio migrated to Forge, and have customers reported any issues?

Our other commercial app Worklogs application successfully migrated to the Forge platform, and customers reported no issues during or after the migration.
There were only a few cases where the guidelines were not followed, i.e. failure to configure VPN (see point below) and attempting to access the app via a saved link that was saved when the app was still on the Connect platform causing the opening error.

Will our price or licensing change?

No.

Pricing remains exactly the same.

Is any data migration required?

No.
There are no changes to how data is handled. The app processes and stores data in the same manner as before.

Does using a VPN affect the Forge version?

Possibly, yes.
Forge apps require access to Atlassian Cloud domains.
If your company uses a VPN, ensure it allows the domains listed here:

Otherwise, the app may appear slow or fail to load.
