Worklogs for monday.com always respects the permissions configured in your monday.com account. If a user cannot access a board or item in monday.com, they may also have limited access to related information in Worklogs.
This article explains how board visibility and permissions can affect time logging and managing worklogs.
How permissions work
Your access to boards and items is determined by monday.com permissions, including:
-
Board type (Main, Private, or Shareable)
-
Board permissions
-
Workspace permissions
-
Account permissions
-
Column permissions (where applicable)
For more information, see the official monday.com documentation:
Worklogs does not bypass any of these permissions - it simply follows the access rules defined in your monday.com account.
Logging time
When creating a time entry, Worklogs only displays boards and items that the current user has permission to access.
If you cannot see a board or items while logging time, it's usually because:
-
the board is Private and you are not a member,
-
the board is Shareable and you were not invited,
-
your workspace or board permissions restrict access.
If you believe a board should be available, contact your monday.com administrator or the board owner.
Viewing existing time entries
Your list of time entries may contain entries linked to initiatives that reference boards or items you no longer have access to.
In these cases:
-
the associated board name may not be displayed,
-
the associated item name may not be displayed.
Editing and Deleting Time Entries
Worklogs for monday.com respects the permission model configured in your monday.com instance.
By default, users can edit or delete their own time entries.
Users with elevated monday.com permissions (for example, admins) can also edit or delete time entries created by other users, provided their monday.com permissions grant them this level of access.
Common scenarios

Your board permissions change |
Available boards and items for time logging update automatically based on your new permissions. |
Best practices
To avoid permission-related issues, we recommend:
-
Giving users access to every board they need to log time against.
-
Reviewing board membership before restricting or removing access.
-
Using monday.com board permissions consistently across teams.
-
Use “Main” type of the board.
